Committees

Membership Committee
This committee will encourage PTA membership throughout the MES community.   Duties may include being present at school functions, creating and implementing incentive programs, and actively seeking parent members and business partners as well as the organization of data.


Fundraiser Committee
Fundraising is what makes all of the programs PTA sponsors possible.  Committee members will work with companies/ businesses to promote sales, coordinate delivery and facilitate distribution.       

BOX TOPS – This committee meets once a week to collect, count and record Box Tops brought in by students.  They will also help with the creation of  bulletin boards and materials used for periodic contest.

EVENTS NIGHT – This committee will help with the planning, advertising and execution of the following nights: Movie Night, Holiday Dance, Bingo Night and Mulberry Day.

SPIRIT NIGHTS – Volunteers will help to plan and promote activity nights  with our area businesses. 
 
SPIRIT WEAR – Volunteers will help to promote school pride through MES themed clothing. This committee helps in the decision of design as well as the sale of the apparel. As a member you will be asked to to promote sales at our various school events throughout the year.  


Information & Communication Committee
BULLETIN BOARDS – Volunteers will help decorate our bulletin board with upcoming events throughout the year.

NEWSLETTER – Our newsletter is a vital source of information for MES families.  Volunteers will coordinate and organize information from PTA and staff.  This committee will also be  responsible for the publishing and distribution of our newsletter.  You may also be asked to work with local media to display our PTA events.

WEBSITE – This group will keep our website updated with the latest news and info while working along side of our school’s technology coordinator.

YEARBOOK – Volunteers will help with the planning, design and organization of all memories of the year for the yearbook. As a member you may be asked to photograph, as well as help with administrative functions of sales and record- keeping.

CAMERA PARENT – These volunteers are willing to be present and photograph school/class events to publish in the yearbook.


Parental Involvement Committee
ROOM PARENT – These parents are willing to share their time & energy to help the teacher coordinate additional events throughout the year.  These volunteers will also help with the planning  and facilitation of the winter and spring parties and act as a liaison between PTA and parents to keep everyone involved and informed. 

VIGP & VIP (VERY INVOLVED GRANDPARENTS & PARENTS) – This group will meet one morning each week to provide extra hands for cutting, coloring, pasting, and laminating materials to be used in classrooms.


Hospitality
STAFF APPRECIATION –  These volunteers will help PTA recognize and thank our staff during the appropriate times during the school year.  In the past we have made a small craft, provided lunch by donations collected asd given flowers.  We are open to your talents and ideas to make our staff feel appreciated.


Cultural Enrichment Committee
REFLECTIONS – This National PTA cultural arts program encourages students to get creative with art, language & music.  Volunteers will aid in the promotion of the program, judging at the school level, and aiding in the delivery of entries.


Community Involvement Committee          
HEALTH & WELLNESS – This committee will help promote healthy behaviors at MES.  Programs may relate to physical, mental health, and safety.
